Remembering Part II

Beginnings

It all began with a little note...

A young man from Syria

met a family in America

and brought a light into their life

that will never be extinguished...

It was the year 2000

it was my family

and the young man was Mohammad...

He has brought such light and inspiration to us that even now, in our sorrow and grief,

we feel intense thankfulness that he became ours and that our worlds, our cultures, our hearts embraced...our music and art...our spirituality... our opinions and differences...

our humor

and our precious loved ones.

Our love for Mohammad brings us together with his family in Syria and we have so many thoughts and memories to share.  We find that... we are family.

To Mohammad's precious family

and many friends all over the world:

May these photos and memories

help to comfort our broken hearts~

                            With love,  Rhonda

Remembering with tears

Vacationing in Northern Syria~~

18 years old  and visiting in the Ukraine

We splashed in the sea

dancing with joy

We sang our songs

out over the Space Needle

to the world...

and they heard us

I smile and remember~

Our little Lucy dog

frightened you

but only for a day or two...

then it was true love  :^)

You brought us music

laughter, warmth and wisdom,

shimmering robes, spices

and the baklava of Syria,

lovely little tables

you packed in your suitcase~

Our house is filled

with such treasures and still

we feel your exuberance,

your indomitable spirit...

full of insight and kindness

with a special love

for each one of us.

You've gone on before us now

to show us the way~

I think that you would smile

to hear me call you an angel

but my dear Mahommy,

When we needed love

you found us...

and such a miracle

makes us cry

yet it gives us the faith

to trust beyond this life,

this time of  joy and pain.

Let me tell you something...

You are our hero.

To sit in the garden and visit...such a precious time.

Brothers

They love their Mohammad so much

My lovely Syrian dress and tea set~

All beef hotdogs and Coca cola

Spread love everywhere you go.

Let no one ever come to you

without leaving happier

Another terrific tribute to Mohammad. So many people are taken before realizing their true potential, or dreams: Like a library book that has had the last few chapters removed.

Thank you Mike...I am still in denial of his passing. He was the most ALIVE person I have ever known...He did realize his dream of becomig a doctor and coming to America several times...and finding friends all over the world~

Yes, this is a time of loss, but looking at this tabblo makes me realize that sooooooooo much was and is gained when dynamic lives meet! Your family and his family continue to be close in thoughts, love, understanding because of this amazing young man. Truly he is a hero and a person who has reached his goals, achieved his dreams, touched the lives of many. A wonderful and moving tribute this tabblo is!

Really touching, Rhonda. It is impossible not to feel him as part of our lives, too, after reading your text and seeing the images. Life is not supposed to be fair, my friend...

Eduardo, as many times, wrote the first and read my thoughts... I feel the same. No more words, your texts and images speak by themselves.

Thank you all...I'm a bit driven to tell his story...I'm almost done. There seems to be some answers for me and my family and his family in going back and remembering some very important events that took place. I am cherishing those memories~~~Thank you all. Amen Deb...you know.
