Every time we head to Doheny Beach something magical happens.

Upon arrival a symbolic recreation of a being from a far away land joins us and watches over our group.

The shape nor the appearance is ever the same, yet there is an uncanny thought that just possibly, it has come from within us.

Maybe you have the explanation that we are all looking for....

For our fall visit to the beach, we were greeted with tons of cloud cover...

...even at 11:30 the cooks were having a difficult time distinguishing the fog from bbq smoke....

...it didn't take long for the hungry group to get in line though...

...and besides the dogs and burgers...there were plenty of other salads and dessert to go around...

It was great to have Dick back and join us!!! I bet Jan is excited too!!

...for some reason Steve is always having to wait for Joe...who needs to sample everything...

...and then there is Jeanne who just makes it simple - take all of the dessert!!

...the more ambitious souls decide to take on a project...

...one that involves careful use of a knife...

...the youngsters came to take on the not so young types...

...Frank w/Sally's help designing a first ever baseball theme pumpkin...

...and how cool to see Grandma and Grandson working on one together...

...not surprisingly, here comes Jeanne with more dessert...

...but fortunately Mike was able to get some before it was all gone...

....oh but wait, Jeanne was really just being nice and passing the dessert around...

...but if you look closely under that napkin...she is hiding the goods!

...now one of our newest members needs to learn...

...that texting is no replacement for carving pumpkins!

Frank still isn't done so let's look at some cars...

Time for judging!!!

The judging was tough, but we came up with 5 winners - and what prizes they won!! So good, we can't say what they are because the IRS would be after the winners!!!

Another fun day at the beach and proof once again...our club isn't about the cars we drive, it is about the friendships we have developed.
