The Olive Grove Autumn 2009

The olive grove has been prepared for harvest. The areas around the bases of the trees are cleared of brambles and anything that would make the nets more difficult to spread but the avenues between the trees are left natural. Suckers and small, unwanted branches are removed. The brambles are rolled into balls and fitted into the perimeter hedges where they swiftly turn into a natural barbed wire but the suckers and other trimmings from the trees are chipped and turned into path material. Everything goes back into the land.

Oh !

Lovely. If it wasn't olives but juniper or birches, this could be heathlands further north in Europe.
