We spent the last of September and the first of October travelling and camping in southern Utah, in search of fall colors. |

|
After a couple of days in central Utah, we started south on the "Skyline Trail". This is a series of forest roads that run down the "spine" of Utah, traversing the Manti-LaSal, Fishlake, and Dixie National Forests. Some paved, some rough unimproved dirt, but mostly good gravel, it makes a great trip.
We spent several days admiring the view, frequently at an altitude of 9,000 feet and more. The weather was great. We had lots of frost overnight and frequently hard-frozen water. We were glad to be in warm sleeping bags at night. |
