Chronicle of the murdered house

Wish I could buy this

old farm, bring the main house back to life,

and live there, far from stress, violence, crowds, traffic jams, mpatient clients, bills to pay, shopping centers, bank accounts, noisy neighbors & frozen food.

Just my books, my CDs,

my dogs and - maybe -

a cam. No cellphone,

no internet, no tv.

That would be great

- for one week, at least...

Fazenda São Miguel

Andrelândia

Minas Gerais

The title of this tabblo was borrowed from a classic Brazilian novel ("Crônica da Casa Assassinada"),

 by Lúcio Cardoso,

that also inspired the homonimous movie (by Paulo César Saraceni)

and song (by Tom Jobim).

Great shots!

Great great shots, Eduardo! All of them! And Minas offers something that the other places can't offer. I can't explain, but I can feel it. Thanks much!

What a project this would be for you, Eduardo. I think that you should buy this beautiful old house, and restore it with tender loving care. Great pics of its slow, sad death.

This looks like a house that needs a contractor and abundant money to bring it back to its old glory. But it does have character and charm. Nice pictures.
Sonnia said at 7:57 a.m. on Nov 10, 2009:

Guess everyone has the smae fantasy sometimes or others. I used to tell my friend that I can live on a desolate island all by myself. Now at my age, I'd think otherwise..............LOL.....

Love your photos though !!!
Tishfish said at 10:19 a.m. on Nov 10, 2009:
Living there would be great, you could restore it I'm sure.
Ira said at 1:29 p.m. on Nov 10, 2009:
Only rest... The people very much dream of it. Constant stress in the civilized world. Business, problems, money, shops, job, crowd, dirt under legs and grey walls of houses, smoke... Think... The silence of this house fascinates. And photo too.Bring in this house a part of a civilization?:)
AliDar said at 3:18 p.m. on Nov 10, 2009:
I love the shot of the window with it's shadow on the boards. It would be lovely to restore it, wouldn't it? If you included internet you'd be able to live there for more than just a week. <G>

Eduardo, Maybe the price is low. Maybe the foundation is still good. Maybe you can buy this house, Never say never , all things are possible, Unless there is a reason one could not buy it. But in life one never know what could happen unless we put our faith forward and try. ~~
Sirnicolay said at 9:20 p.m. on Nov 12, 2009:
The house has a haunting feel to it. Very nice. :D
Loes said at 4:03 p.m. on Nov 13, 2009:

ARANHA.JOANA said at 6:11 p.m. on Nov 16, 2009:
