Photo Paintings

I start off with low-res photos taken with my camera-phone, then paint/draw over them using GIMP and INKSCAPE.

 

In some cases, like trees at bottom-left, I first trace the pixel based elements into vectorized polygons, then create several overlapping layers with different colors.
