Paula, I think your compositions are awesome but like many of us digital users, the medium betrays the colors we see with our eyes. Especially te sky... digital always kills our blue skies! Have you thought about getting a polarizer filter? Not sure what kind of camera you have, but if it's an SLR, you can get a polarizer filter and it will pump up the color of your photos. It does this by reducing glare from objects. Digital tends to "grey out" a lot of the color. If you get one, make sure it's the right size filter thread (different than the size of your lens... ie, your lens may be 18-55mm, but the filter thread will be something like 67mm... just an example) and make sure it's a CIRCULAR polarizer. Shoot at 90 degree angles to the sun and turn the polarizer until the sky turns darker... you'll flip when you see what happens!

For the first two pictures, I actually got very low to the ground and was able to get the water with the reflection in it. Jeff, thank you for making that suggestion. I will definitely keep that in mind. Also, it was great to meet you and River on Saturday. I am looking forward to seeing you both and the other BPC members at another event soon.
