i am an apolotical person, but i do appreciate humanitarian efforts :) wonderful universal tabblo.
Eduardo.affonso said at 7:11 a.m. on Jan 20, 2007:
Someone who appreciates humanitarian efforts can't be called "apolitical", JASON. We all are policital beings in some way (it's not a matter of policital party, right of left, conservative or liberal). Some of your tabblos show you have a sharp political conscience.
Pkeener said at 9:24 a.m. on Jan 20, 2007:
EDUARDO first comment on the creator of this: What have you been thinking of lately with your last two tabblos? I see a man who is passionate about life. I see a creative artist expressing himself and speaking out for what he believes in. I see someone with strong convictions and compassion for all. I feel strength and humanity. As for the Tabblo, itself, it is superb. Layout, design, the last set of photos in sepia are perfect. I CRINGED and hid my eyes when I saw the other images for the first time on the internet, and now I can look at them and feel only great sadness for the human condition. Thank you for this and your use of many languages to share with the international community we are a part of.

Thanks you for sharing your thoughts and vision with us. Great tabblo, Eduardo.

Great job Eduardo ! I do believe in Mahatma Gandhi's "Three monkeys" principle !

I will come back here, to comment this subject!

I like this layout with the language. Thought provoking.

WOW says so much incredible view of the crumbling status and what is sometimes tolerated...
Siagian said at 11:33 a.m. on Jan 21, 2007:
Eduardo, you show real courage by making this tabblo and i salute you for that! i wish the text was in english though for the rest of us who dont understand portuguese very well.
TavarES said at 5:42 p.m. on Jan 21, 2007:
All the people have right the liberty of speech, justice, protection, and especially the life. But, some of these personages had been forgotten these rights stop with the others. They did not have to die? Which the solution? These problems would not exist, if the mothers of them had had an abortion when they had been pregnant.
Lucemiami said at 7:06 p.m. on Jan 21, 2007:
Eduardo comparto totalmente esos principios sobre la libertad de expresion y el derecho al respeto .Gracias por compartirlos con nosotros.
Eduardo.affonso said at 5:33 a.m. on Jan 22, 2007:
LUCE: Creo que debemos no solamente compartir estos principios sino también defenderlos, divulgarlos y estar atentos a que sean respectados. Y fué por eso que pensé: ¿por que no hacerlo acá, en Tabblo?

AFONSO: In my opinion killing a human being is a crime, no matter what this person might have made. Saddam decided that kurds should be killed, because they were his enemies; Americans and new Iraqi leaders decided Saddam should be killed because... they considered him their enemy - so, who's right, who is wrong? All of them are wrong. Talking about your solution (preventive abortion): how could Saddam's mother know he was going to become a monster? I'm sure she has supported him during all her life, because she believed he was doing the right thing... No, my friend, abortion and death penalty are not solutions at all. Education, democracy, respect for the human rights - that's the path.

WOODY: The text is written in many different languages, but theres's an English version in all of them. It's the first sentence on the first text; the second sentence on the second text and the last sentence on the last text (take a look and you'll find it). My idea was to have the same things said by different voices, different languages, alltogether, at the same time: so the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is written in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Swedish, Danish, Dutch, Icelandic, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Hungarian, Czech, Polish, Welsh, Tagalog, Indonesian, Romanian, Breton, Catalan, Serbian, Albanian, Aymara, Basque, Finnish, Esperanto, Galician, Guarani, Kimbundu, Romani, Turkish and Portuguese...

In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." and "Love is the key to the problems of the world." How different the world would be if we could all love and forgive one another.
Nina1960 said at 3:40 p.m. on Jan 23, 2007:
This is so great what you share with us, thank you.
Eduardo.affonso said at 4:04 p.m. on Jan 23, 2007:
NINA, VFNAOMI, ANJA: I hesitated a lot before I decided to make this tabblo public, because it could be considered offensive by some of us. Politics is always a delicate subjetc. But, in fact, we're talking about the essencial, fundamental, universal human rights - and such rights have no political color nor frontiers.

JILL & SETU: Both Luther King Jr. and Ghandi are apostles of non-violence, and that's the only way to deal with so much intolerance - but we all must keep our ears, eyes and mouth wide open to denounce all violence that surrounds us.

PAM: I'm not sure if I'm passionate about life, but I'm really angry about injustice & violence. The world shouldn't be like that in the XXI century, that's what makes me stop taking photos of beautiful things for a while and try to pay some attention on the insanity that surrounds us.

Provoking. That's the right word, CAITLIN. We all must be provoked once in a while, don't you think so?
Eduardo.affonso said at 4:06 p.m. on Jan 23, 2007:
CLAUDIO: I'll add this tabblo to the group. Thanks for have created it.

Eduardo.affonso said at 6:00 p.m. on Jan 23, 2007:
Liliana said at 6:12 p.m. on Jan 23, 2007:
Se vc lê os seus mails (pessoais, nao do Tabblo...) vai ver a "transmisión de pensamiento"... Estoy viva, sí (je,je,creo). Pensé en un mail... y en el "telefonema"...¡hasta en una carta clásica! Também vc pode escrever... ;) e :(
Quise decir "alma".

you speak for all mankind~your images shock and anger me~thank you for being so bold by creating this tabblo and making your statement~in the last section refering to second sentence in english you omitted one leader that i feel belongs in the gallery of sepia images~perhaps you were just trying to make a pleasing layout of even number
Engelgrafik said at 12:08 p.m. on Feb 10, 2007:
Something tells me the 40 million Ukrainians, Jews and "undesirables" murdered between Hitler and Stalin would never say that love could have kept them alive. Once the dam has burst and the deluge has begun, the only thing you can do is fight to survive. These people had no chance. Their fellow citizens grew apathetic and disinterested in their existence. Apathy is the enemy of understanding. Apathy leads to Hate and Hate will defeat Love in every single war. You have to defeat hate BEFORE it starts. You have to fight apathy! Teach people to understand. Actively LEARN.

EDU forgive my ignorance, but who is the dictator in pic#2? I recognize all of them but this. I like what JEFF is saying.
Eduardo.affonso said at 5:39 a.m. on Feb 13, 2007:
PAM: It's infamous Augusto Pinochet, who leaded the worst dictatorship in South America, after the assumed the government in Chile. He had died a few days before I made this tabblo, but I included him anyway.

This tabblo speaks a lot without words. Great social commentary. This kind of thing really inspires me. When I see or do a tabblo like this, I feel that it is more a work of art than just photos.
Eduardo.affonso said at 11:55 a.m. on Jan 30, 2008:
Thanks, BILL. This tabblo was created about one year ago, and I notice it could be re-created right now, since nothing has really changed. Colombian terrorists keep their hostages under sub-human conditions (with the support of Venezolan and Brazilian presidents), election fraud made Kenya explode into chaos, Iraqi is still dealing with American intervention and radical muslim terrorism, Benazir Bhutto was finally killed (who could protect her forever from her enemies?), Cuba had its fake elections once again... Not to mention Darfur, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Myanmar and so many other "forgotten wars".

Sometimes I feel Tabblo can be used not only to post our sunsets, bees, flowers, baby faces, façades or fractals. It can be a great place to share our thoughts, concerns. Much before we became photographers, and part of Tabblo community, we were already humans, and part of a larger community called Mankind...
Welshchick said at 8:58 p.m. on Feb 14, 2009:
Yes, we are the community of Mankind...CONTROL is always at the forefront. Although HATE will cross the line of sanity to do what it will...LOVE is an eternally stronger force. The trick is to get all the peace loving LOVERS to join together...we are the ones with children...we are the ones who care about life and we also are very aware of our precious vulnerabilities and so we fear to get involved... until we see the what happens if we don't. The mama and baby in that first photo belong to all of us.
Eduardo.affonso said at 9:33 a.m. on Feb 16, 2009:
