San Xavier del Bac

San Xavier del Bac is a Spanish Mission built to serve the Tohono O'Odhom or Desert People. Construction began in 1783. The Mission is south of Tucson; and, despite its great popularity as a tourist destination, it remains true to its origins. Unfortunately for the photographer, the larger of its two towers is wrapped in scaffolding.

Arid place for such an ornate church on the inside.
I like the courtyard picture, it gives a sensation of calm and cool.
