These photos are from my photo exhibition, "12 Miles West", which was at the Lincoln, Massachusetts Public Library (photo to the right) in August of 2005. These photos feature locations that tend to be further away from public transit. I wanted to show people how beautiful it is here just a short trip west of Boston near the small towns of Waltham / Lincoln / Concord and their environs. Living in the big city, people often forget the quiet rural nature that is waiting for them to explore and enjoy just a few miles away.
Photo information: All photos were shot with a 3.34mp Nikon Coolpix 995 modified internally to capture only near-Infrared light. The RGB glass that filters away IR light was removed and replaced with a regular piece of glass covered with a Wratten IR filter and placed back over the sensor. This allows the Coolpix camera to show you a preview of your shot on the LCD screen with only about a 5-stop loss of light. |
