~ Secrets Congelés en Mer ~ ~ Secrets Frozen at Sea ~

Frozen Seas of Cape Cod  ~  These pictures are from New Silver Beach, which is located in North Falmouth, MA. It always amazes me when the sea freezes!  As you can see in the pictures, the waves froze just as they were coming in to shore.  With the sun reflecting off of the frozen ocean, it was truly a beautiful sight.

Burrrrrr. Makes me feel every degree. I especially like the rock quay that juts into the ice mass. Don't forget to increase your exposure when shooting something that reflective as the sun on the ice will "fool" your camera into stopping down and underexposing slightly. Good work.
Pkeener said at 10:39 p.m. on Feb 11, 2007:
PAULA I am really amazed at this. First, the beauty of your Tabblo is awesome and second, thank you for sharing this. I have never seen the waves frozen, either.

That is beautiful and very interesting. We definitely have the cold here, but not such pretty scenery.
JoanW said at 3:43 p.m. on Feb 12, 2007:
Very cold looking scenes, but you have captured them well. It is quite fascinating to think that the salt water would freeze like that. Here I live right on the St.Lawrence river, and although it is frozen over in most places, there are still some open patches of water which can be seen on our drive into Cornwall our nearest town. This year the cold weather started much later, so it's not frozen completely. It's strange to see the waves frozen as they roll in. Excellent captures.

! ~ Bises à tous.~ Grosses bises à toi, Thierry ! ! :) ~ Paula ~~~

Very nice! We seldom think of Cape Cod frozen. In just a few weeks I'll be digging clams and lazing around on the sand. Now while I'm soaking up the hot sun, I'll be thinking about this Tabblo trying to imagine it cold and icy....probably wishing it for a moment to cool off. lol
