Year of the Pig

Chinese New Year Lion Dance, Boston Chinatown

To bring good luck in the new year, lions visit each business to ward off demons and bad luck. Merchants leave greens for the lions, and oranges for good luck. Wikipedia has a thorough entry on the lion dance.

Color everywhere, and there are lots and lots of loud and smokey fiecrackers.
