Neon Fascination

 

 

Neon lights are some of the coolest things ever. They're especially fascinating at night when they contrast against the dark.

Great job! I also love neon and have recently started (or re-started) my collection. I may post one in the near future. FYI, there's a neon group on flickr that you might want to check out.

Thanks for your comments. Glad you like it. I should also add that the project started because I wanted neon on my wall at home.

Are these all taken in the same city? Or are they from various different places?

Antonio, these were all taken in Boston, Cambridge & Somerville, Massachusetts. I stopped way down and used a tripod.

The one thing about a tripod is that it attracts attention and people want to know what you're doing. It was fun talking to people about what I was doing.

None of these have been through Photoshop. It's easier and faster to do things in the field than point & click at my computer. Only one shot was completely hand held. Another was done by either using my body to steady the camera or by using a light pole or parking meter.
