Iraq Shots

The door gunner that hooked me up

The first set of shots are of my airmoble from Baghdad to BIAP. (Baghdad International AirPort) This ride was different. A buddy of mine in aviation operations knew I needed to move quickly to BIAP. The US Blackhawks were'nt due in for a while. So he crossloaded me onto a British Puma. These things fly very low and very fast. The door gunner gave me the best seat in the house. I have awesome video as well as stills. My thanks to the Brits for this one.

Two PUMA's prepare for takeoff.

LZ Washington is home to the Blackwater Aviation guys as well.

Yours truely with the best seat in the house. (No seatbelt was used in the making of this movie/ photo footage)

Light machine gun at 200 feet left door PUMA.

The following pictures were taken in and around Baghdad roughly November 2006. The 3rd bloodiest month on record. You can see the effects of a car bomb that just detonated in the background and the effects of a 120mm shell fired from a M-1 Abrahms tank through a brick wall.

Out for a Sunday drive in Baghdad.

Car bombs suck. A VBIED goes of not too far away.

Headin to see what blew up!

120mm shell blows a nice hole!
