Anders, I was shaking with excitement! I was walking through the woods, it was really calm and quite, thought I heard a noise, so I turned around, and there he was with his head popped up out of the tree. I was lucky enough to have my camera on and ready to go.

Super shots Pual, they are so clear and detailed. It looks like you had all the time in the wrold to take them, but I'm sure you didn't. What a catch you got here! Well done...

Really super shots - I have seen the Barred Owl around where I live but I never seem to have the right lens with me at the time. Still hoping...

He is a handsome specimen! We have a Barred Owl living in the area around our home up north. (I may have mentioned it to you in an earlier Tabblo....can't remember) I hear his "Who cooks for you all" early every morning but we have only seen himm during the daytime once. I will have to try and get some pictures this summer.

Wow these are amazing, a large owl came to feed at my feeder the other evening, but I didn't have my camera, he grabbed what he wanted and left. The camera is by the window now.
