ITINERARY TOWARDS MY CHILDHOOD

ITINERAIRE D'UN VOYAGE VERS MON ENFANCE

Mes chers amis,

Thierry-chiloedream.

ITINERARY TOWARDS MY CHILDHOOD

My dear friends,

I just returned from a beautiful trip on my mountain bike to the Morocco of my childhood:

2 months away from tabblo, millions of images, more than 2600km by the strength of

the calf, through France, Spain and Morocco, a homecoming to distant roots that one cannot

forget... I missed you all. This tabblo is the first one of a small series: I will

subsequently break down my trip into themes: people, countryside, the sea, the cities...

Yours sincerely. Thierry-chiloedream.

The slipstreams carry away our travels, they engulf the pages of our books, they

confuse our ultimate dreams and our surviving illusions... They are the instant and brief

memory of the passer-by. They write the stories of our lives and the story of the world...

Already at the horizon, the blue trail of the Biladi absorbs the memory of our wandering...

All that is left over the ocean waves is the promise of more travels...

To set sail again, once more, to write more pages...

Yours sincerely , thierry-chiloedream

Perfect, just perfect! They are all so beautiful, I espeically love the scenes of the sea and beaches along the coast. The one that is special for me is the one where the waves are breaking on the shore with some spary and it almost monotone. It is like sepia in colour except for the blue of the sea. It is hard to pick special ones as they are all so wonderful. Looking forward to more from you.

Vos commentaires me touchent
me comble.
~~~Toutes les manières de voir le monde sont bonnes, pourvu qu'on en revienne...~~~
(L'Usage du Monde). Une autre citation que j'aime beaucoup :
Les photographes regardent fixement dans un viseur, appuient sur un bouton et donnent un
sens au monde. Ce qu'ils nous offrent sont les reflets de tout ce que nous avons su et de
tout ce que nous saurons, de notre sagesse la plus profonde, de la valeur de chaque journée,
du coût de l'amour, du prix du pain, de la merveilleuse valeur de la joie. Ils nous
montrent des noms, des endroits et des gens que nous n'avons jamais connus, que nous ne
connaîtrons jamais, mais qui nous sont pourtant familiers. Ils nous nourrissent du meilleur
et du pire de nous mêmes....""" James Mc Bride. Merci mille fois pour cette amitié
précieuse. A très bientôt. (traduction AVDB)
My dear friends, I am glad to be back among you. Your comments touch me deeply.
Through this trip that gave me a great deal, your friendship means a lot to me.
The picture of the dog is very harsh. I kept it buried in the back of my mind during
the trip. I ended up posting it to send a strong message: on the roads, by foot,
by car, on a bike, be cautious, attentive and vigilant. As the great traveling writer
Nicolas Bouvier wrote:
- "There are many right ways to see the world, as long as you come back from it...
(L'Usage du Monde) Another quote that I enjoy:
Photographers stare through a viewfinder, click on a button and make sense of the world.
What they give us is the reflection of everything we have learnt and will learn,
of our deepest wisdom, the value of each day, the cost of love, the price of bread,
the wonderful value of joy. They show us names, places and faces we did not know before,
that we will never know, and yet are familiar to us. They feed us with the best and the
worst of ourselves."James McBride. Thank you all again for your terrific friendship.
Cher Thierry, bienvenue de retour parmi nous en parfaite santé -avec des mollets en béton ! -et la tête pleine de rêves et de souvenirs que tu as eu la gentillesse de partager avec nous .Tous les paysages sont sublimes, la carte très explicative et les commentaires pleins de poésie et de philosophie . La mer , les fleurs, les dunes de sable, le canal du midi , les portes de Rabat . Alès, Lodève , le canal du midi , j' y suis passée il y a 10 ans ,me rappelle toujours ces paysages du Midi et du Larzac si beaux et encore authentiques .La côte Sud Est de l' Espagne je l' avais faite...en voiture , comme tout le monde ! Il faut une sacrée endurance physique pour parcourir ces miliers de km avec "la petite reine" à deux roues .Que ressent on après toutes ses semaines de voyages, à la fois seul et entouré: plénitude, osmose avec la nature et détachement envers les choses de la vie ? J' attends la suite des photos comme tous les amis !
Thank you so very much for sharing your journey with all of us. You do what I only dream of. I am thankful for tabblo and your blog, they allowed us to see with your eyes. Wonderful! I'm glad you are back.
This is exciting! You should continue from Morocco and follow the Sarahwi Route to Nouakchott! That would be exciting (and someone dangerous, but that's the thrill of it, no?)!
Ebucar said at 11:48 p.m. on Aug 27, 2007:
Pas du tout, Thierry, j’aime les chiens. Mais… tu parles du chien noir, n’est-ce pas? L’animal de la photo 14 m’inquiète...
Chiloedream said at 5:04 a.m. on Aug 29, 2007:
Chère Eliane, la photo 14 était un peu provocante, c'était un mesage d'alerte et de prudence. Je n'ai pas de chien chez moi, seulement un chat, tu peux voir sa photo dans mon blog : www.chiloedream.canalblog.com A bientôt, bises.
Ebucar said at 10:31 p.m. on Sep 16, 2007:
Merci chère Gazelle, un voyage comme un livre qui s'est refermé. Ecrire d'autres pages, aller voir le monde derrière sa fenêtre. S'étonner de sa simple beauté. Salut ma voyageuse. Thierry-chiloedream.
