ÁVILA

When I give a "jump" for the side of Madrid, it has a place for where step. Avila, small city, patrimony of the humanity, full of history, as many other localities of the Europe.

Welcome back AFFONSO! This is so Magestic. I like the lion with the cchain in his teeth in #6 and the first pic is amazing with your composition. It reminds me of a the cover photo from a "LIFE" magazine from many years ago.

Your photography is wonderful, but I miss the human element in your scenes. It would serve to warm the starkness of the architecture, magnificent though it is. Cheers!

I was in Avila many years ago (1996) and loved it. I was with my mother and it was a very cold day for us and we didn't have anything warm to wear. I would love to return there someday. Thanks for the memories. Monica

Salut Afonso, les remparts d'Avila sont magiques. Merci de m'avoir suivi sur mon blog. J'espère que nous boirons un verre ensemble un jour du côté de Puerto Banus. A bientôt, amitiés.

Afonso - I love Avila. You captured it's beauty so wonderfully. You make me want to go back to Spain with all of your fabulous tabblos of Spain.

Holy cow.... these photos are fantastic. First off, is this film? It "feels" like film.. the very dense dynamic range and color gamut seems to be superior to most digital photos. Second, the geometry of the architectural shots appears corrected almost as if you're using a large format camera with movements, or a medium format. The photos look too detailed to be 35mm or digital... would love to know what you used to create these photos. BTW, AMAZING photos! I must visit this place. This is Spain or is it Portugal? You can really notice the Romanesque influence but it also seems to have Moorish influence.

Jeff: These are very simple photos that had kept. Digital photos of small resolution (+/- 150 kb) that I manipulated in the PC for sepia/classic way to have aspect better. This small city, is situated in Spain, to the side of Portugal, in the road of Salamanca for Madrid.
