Boy Scouts visit Boston Freedom Trail

Troop 157 began its journey by getting onto the Boston transit system at the Quincy Adams station, and pose with excitement and anticipation of a fun-filled day of US History while hiking the Freedom Trail.

Below: The Freedom Trail Map (a walking tour through historic Boston), meeting up with a character of the Revolutionary era, Old City Hall, and a few of the Scouts posing with Ben Franklin

Left: The Boy Scouts listening to a few instructions before entering Faneuil Hall, Boston's first Town Hall, before growing from town to city.

Below: As I love panoramic photos, below is the 1st of three. Only a panoramic photo of the inside of Faneuil Hall would do it justice.

Above: A few more scenes inside and outside Faneuil Hall, a portrait of forefather # 1, George Washington, the back of Faneuil Hall (with eagle clock), the outside of Faneuil Hall with a make believe Cheers in the foreground, alongside Quincy Market.

Below: Paying homage to Sam Malone's Native American photo in the show "Cheers", the photographer of this tabblo posing with his drinking buddy, Norm Peterson, and a few souveneirs of the famous place "where everybody knows your name"

Above Left: The correct pronunciation of  "Harvard" University

Above Right: Gotta love that Redsox-Yankees rivalry

Left: A typical sports wall in Boston

Below: The 2nd of my panoramic photos, the Paul Revere house, in the context of the surrounding triangular block in which it is situated

Above Left: A narrow street typical of the North End of Boston, with the Oyster House in view.

Above Right: Marriott's Custom House

Left: A lovely young lady from Michigan took our picture with Paul Revere doing his thing above us.

Above Left: The inside and outside of the Old North Church, the very 1st church in Boston

Above Right: The Massachusetts State House

Below: Zakim-Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge (the last of my panoramic photos)

Above: London and New York use the double decker bus, but Boston uses what's known as "The Duck" for its Boston Duck Tours

Left: No, not the Washington Monument, but the Bunker Hill Monument in the Charlestown section of Boston

Right: The USS Constitution, the oldest US Naval ship in the fleet at 200+ years old

Left: As we leave Boston, one of our leaders is getting ready for our next trip,

to the Grand Canyon (just kidding, Rich)
