A Prayer For My Sister

Over three years ago my younger sister had what she thought was a cold that would not go away.  It was actually a virus that had attacked her heart leaving her with Congestive Heart Failure.  After several heart and thoracic surgeries, her only option left was a heart transplant.

Tonight our prayers may have been answered.  It is indeed a true Easter miracle to us.  Tonight she may be granted the gift of a new heart and a chance to have some semblance of life again.

For those of you who believe in the power of prayer, please offer one up for her in her time of need.

I can't help but think of the grieving family who made the decision to have a loved one's organs donated.  My thanks and prayers go out to them as well.  Thank you seems too little to say for such a sacrifice.

Blessings and peace to all.

Deb and second youngest sister, Carolyn

In 2000, Debbie's husband sent all 5 of us white water rafting down the Colorado River. Such wonderful memories.

Thanks for all the wonderful prayers and wishes!! I'm so thankful that my big sister Deb has gotten this wonderful gift of life. My sister is an angel.... but God decided we all needed here on earth for many more years. Debbie looks fantastic today, and will do better with each passing day. If anyone deserves this gift its Deb...... she will do everything and anything that she is suppose to do. She knows what a wonderful gift she has been given, and she is truly thankful!! Our family is truly Blessed everyday..... but today.... a billion times over.

The latest news is that Debbie is now staying at Dad's, not too far from Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Her second biopsy was Monday....and once again ZERO signs of rejection! That is 2 in a row. Our thanks for all the prayers, well wishes, candles and just plain warm thoughts from all of you. We also thank her heart team and the former trnaplant patients who have be so very supportive. It is such a JOY to watch she get better each day. A miracle we never thought we'd see.
