Fallen Tree

At approximately 5:30am on April 16, 2007, a dead tree located behind the 63 Parsonst St condo (tree resides on the 74 Leicester St property) had a arge trunk / branch snap off and fall against the upstairs unit porch and siding due to strong winds.  Damage was contained to the upstairs porch railing, some nicks to the siding and potentially some shingle damage to the roof.

The 'L' shape of the branch itself outlined the upstairs neighbor's small car that was parked on the left side of the driveway so no damage was done to either vehicle parked in the driveway at the time.

Officer Orlando Pelligrino of the Brighton Police (Badge#4588)  inspected the damage at around 8:30am.  He suggested that no police report was required as this was a private property matter.   He suggested that  pictures should be taken and the home owners insurance company should be contacted.  They would likely send out an insurance appraiser/adjuster and take up the issue with the with the insurance company of the property upon which the tree resides - 74 Leicester St.

The property owner of the tree is E. Levenson, 74 Leicester St. (617.782.1536)

Bill Demore of Demore Tree and Landscaping (617.782.9780)came out to inspect the damage and provided the following free estimate:

- Removal of fallen limb = $300

- Removal of secondary overhanging branch = $700

with a $100 if both removals are done on the same day.

He could have it done Tuesday, 4/17 or as soon as weather permits.
