Trapped at Home During Nor-easter

It finally happened. For the first time since moving here, we were trapped in our neighborhood by the combination of a huge storm and a very high tide. Fortunately tides recede!

We often picnic on this seawall, which is very safe even at high tide. NOT today!

The boulders sticking up to the right are out of place

Going nowhere--this is the only road in and out of our neighborhood

The mouth of the harbor is in there somewhere. There are usually no waves inside the harbor walls. Today two surfers were trying to decide if they should try to brave the huge waves well inside the harbor!

Bummer! That's some nasty weather! All that mess left out of here on Friday and headed right for you guys. Good news is that there is pretty sunny weather behind it. It was sunny and 74F here today in AR - so hopefully this will pass soon. Not soon enought, I know! Hang in there!

Very nice. I WANTED to venture out today and watch the waves, but I was afraid of getting stuck during the tide. Great shots! I love Scituate Harbor!

It's the adventurous sea-faring life you've always craved. Delivered right to your doorstep. Cool, but scary!

Wow! These are incredible!! I have had this nightmare several times (maybe I lived around there in another life? hahahha) You live in such a beautiful spot!! I can't believe you picnic on THAT wall!!! I can't believe those waves were where nothing ever is!! What did the kids think?? Did they want to swim in?? haha. Glad you survived and your home! (of course, and your kids, and your husband,etc.etc. :-D).

I feel cold and wet looking at these pictures. Those grey tones certainly capture that nor'easter.

This is great! I was in the Boston area visiting my son recently and wanted to see a lighthouse. So he took us to Scituate! I thought the area was wonderful - just what the New England coast is supposed to look like. But it was a sunny day when we were there. This looks like a different place from the one we visited. Glad you are all safe and dry again.
