Canon EOS-1 Ds Mark II

As all good things should be named, I called my first 1dsm2 "Kait", short for Kaitiaki Ote Raiti, which translates as 'Caretaker of Light'. Sadly, it met with an ill fate, and it's replacement is named Ophelia, after my grandmother.

I've had this four-megapixel-wonder for a long time and I still love it. It's got a long list of pro's and con's, but it's done a lot of good work and I've benefited from it. One thing that I still use it for is it's capability to record mpeg video. At the highest quality it can only get 9 minutes (onto a 3 inch mini-compact disc), but that's enough to capture a lot of things. Plus, it has a huge LCD screen on the back, which is always active. The best and worst thing about this camera is that it records to mini-CD's. It's great because storage media is so unbelievably cheap, and it's horrible because it takes forever to turn the thing on and take a shot.

Polaroid One600 Pro

The 'Pro' part of it, I think, is because it has a hand-grip on the side, a timer, and a standard pod mount on the bottom. Besides that, and a digital counter on the back, it's just a standard Polaroid camera. I want to experiment with using filters on it at some point. ...I want to be able to control the shutter speed and focal point on a Polaroid camera.

Polaroid Land Camera OneStep 600

A late 1980's model that I've had for a long time. It has it's problems, like the shutter / trigger randomly catching on something and locking up, but that makes for interesting photo's sometimes, so I don't mind the risk of it. When it does work, it takes just about exactly the same colour and clarity as the One600 Pro. I've tested this several times under different light conditions, by taking the same image with both cameras and comparing.

Awesome Tabblo and idea. You should start a "My Gear group" so we can all build these Tabblos and post them. If you do - please be sure to invite me!

"scary" has already been used above, so I'll just say: Vans rock! ;)

Your ultra wide lens is on my wish list. So is your flash...I have an old 480. I love Vans. The map is excellent, Zelda! After I download, edit and organize my pics from Louisiana, I'll do a Gear Tabblo, umm, yeah, sometime in July?? :)

Wow, an impressive presentation ofo some fantastic photographic equipment. You have a fine set up with all those nice lenses and great cameras. I use a Canon Digital Rebel, which suits me quite well, though I need to learn a lot to maximize the capabilities. Well done in this tabblo John.

Cool tabblo John. I'd love to have the 100-400 zoomlens. I agree with Bob..., you (we) should start a "my gear group". I'll surely join too.

[all] if anyone wants to join, there's a 'My Gear' group now. http://www.tabblo.com/studio/group/my-gear [pam] they just released a new version of that ultra-wide. [anjad] i wish i would have gotten the 30-300 instead of the 100-400. [joan] i've used a rebel xt body a few times and i've loved it. it's like a feather and it still takes great pics. imagine that. ;) my cam is 10 lbs and after a day's use; *whew*
