Arrivederci Roma! Part 1 - Euro Impressions (cont'd)

Our European Tour continues with our first day in Rome. We spent the first part of our tour walking in the city to visit the Spanish Steps (Photo 1), and through the narrow streets and small squares, past a wonderful shop full of wooden carvings....see the motorcycle (Photo 5)  Then we viewed the Pantheon from the outside, and waited in turn to enter this lovely building. It was cool inside with the sun shining through the circular hole in the rooftop and leaving a bright spot on the cool dark domed ceiling.

Sunlight streams through the hole in the dome

Inside the Patheon

After this we continued our walk to Piazza Navone, where we stopped for a dinner of Pizza in an open café before taking a stroll in the early evening to be entertained by the jugglers and mimes in the square. Of course we had to photograph the beatuiful statues and fountains of this special piazza

Thanks, Joan. You take us far with your travels. Love the Pantheon - it's hard to believe how old that building is.
