there and back again; dc -> RDU -> atl -> CHS -> dc

This is the view you see from the porch of the Mighty Midget Kitchen. They make a pretty good hotdog. The bbq ain't bad either. Eitherway the Mighty Midget Kitchen is worth the visit to Leesburg VA.

On my drive there were lots of houses that were in various states of decay. I found all of them fascinating. This one reminds us that the war of northern aggression will never be forgotten.

It's scenes like this that remind me that innovation and technology didn't really start affecting human society till ~50yrs ago. Before that america represented the land of plenty. A place where hardwork and DIY rocked.

I drove by this house both on my way down and my way up. It's just dumb luck that I managed to take a picture of it twice. This particular picture is from the ride back to dc.

This much better picture is from the way down. I took this no-look-over-the-shoulder so I'm shocked that it came out as well as it it did. (my favorite shot of the bunch)

The seediest hotel ever, the Hilltop Hotel.

It's like a geranium made out of water bottles.

This picture confused me and my friends for a while. For a day the words "the hell is bunnytuna?" kept crossing my mind. Long live the google.

It's easy to figure out where you are in google earth if you take plenty of pictures of water towers. This one is in Hartwell GA.

I made a hard U-turn on I-54 to make it to this place. The chili slaw dogs are well worth the whiplash.

Evil's best friend is a good fireworks stand.

The Big Chicken. It's the 1.0 design of a robot chicken that will one day come to life. Fueled on the flesh of humans none of us will be able to stop it... You can't tell, but the beak opens and closes and the eyes rotate around. It's pretty creepy but it's a landmark up in Marietta, GA. Unfortunately it's a landmark for KFC.

Can the savior read my prayers like leonardo?

The best whitefish I've ever eaten. The girl at the counter was quite hot as well.

Are you ready? He also has some used cars for cheap.

Brunswick stew is $30/gal a bargain at thrice the price.

Perfect spring days are good for long drives.

It's literally incredible that this picture came out at all... no-look blind thru the sun roof. If you can't tell it's a railroad track cleaner.

The sun gave me an open road tattoo.

White's ferry

Nothing is gets in the way of  trucker and his haul.

Gold skies are neato.

the gold fades into the steel grey

the blue ridge is a well deserved name

I like moody clouds.

moody clouds w/ great landscapes

Twilight rocks.

At this point I had driven nearly a thousand miles and my car was desperately in need of a wash.

It's possible to calculate the distance of the sun via the angle that these rays make... if you knew the size of the clouds. Hooray law of cosines.

The sun. Source of most of the earth's energy and all of my sunburn.

These flowers don't fit this tabblo well, but they're very very magenta.
