5:46 p.m. The fire didn't start out as much. I figured I'd go to the top of my closest hill and see what was going on. I didn't expect to stay there for three hours. |

6:17 p.m. More flames start to show up on the hills right behind the row of houses closest to the park. |

6:20 p.m. Three helicoptors would disappear for 15 minutes or so, getting water from the Silver Lake Reservoir, then reappear to douse the flames. For a while it seemed like it was working. |

6:21 p.m. This was the first sign that the fire wasn't going to go away quickly. A really tall wall of flame that appeared out of the canyon. |

6:50 p.m. Though no houses here were harmed, the fire seemed very close. |

6:55 p.m. One of two non-helicopter planes that were involved in fighting the fire. |

6:58 p.m. Keep an eye on this hillside where rescue vehicles are parked. Later in the evening the whole hill be on fire. |

7:16 p.m. Right behind the green house, one of the most visable homes on this hillside, there is a piece of red flame. |
