The 48 Hour Film Festival

I ran location sound on a crew that participated in the 48 Hour Film Festival in Boston.  For the uninitiated, the festival rules stipulate that you write, shoot, edit and deliver a short film over the span of one weekend.  The only elements you can pull together in advance are your actors, crew, gear, and locations. Here's a photo dairy of the ordeal...uh, I mean, endeavor.

Saturday - 8AM.  The crew assembles, loads gear into vehicles and convoys off to the first location.

Pictured at left from L to R: Writer Bill Chambers, Actress Megan Sullivan, Producer Laura Buckley, Writer/Actor Cody Morrow and Director Thad Samoza.

Not pictured in the photos, but essential to the process, are Writer Scott Hillary, and the post team - Editor Kevin Zhang and Composer/Audio Post Supervisor Michael Lorant, who took the raw material and sewed it into a thing of beauty.

Great working with everyone, let's do it again next year.

Cheers.

Filmmakers line up after the screening for a Q&A session with the audience.

Thanks - this is a lot of fun. It takes place in at least 30 cities across the country.
