Our Honeymoon - Costa Rica, Miami, Cancun

COSTA RICA

Coming from Ireland, this was an astonishing country with so much beauty everywhere we went. We toured as much of the country as we could in one week, renting a 4x4  we started here on the way to Arenal coming from San Jose. We stopped off on the way and went ZIPLINING through the rainforests. Excellent!!

Was challenged to reach this tree on the left. Had to swing like crazy on the way across to stretch to reach it. Didn't help with my landing on the next platform though :-)

This is a picture of the roads, these are the main country roads from area to area. This one was from Arenal to Monteverde, and it only got worse!  The pictures of the crocs and lizard were taken as we headed to Jaco in the South West of the country. There are no barriers etc. to prevent the crocs from coming up to us so you can be sure we were keeping a close eye on things :-)

Jaco

This is a real surfers type town with an excellent beach here. we got totally burnt without realising it. Temp was approx 40 degrees, at lot different to Sweden a few weeks earlier :-).

We stayed approx 3 miles from the town itself, and visited a lot of trails and gardens on the way. The follwing photos are just some samples of what there is on offer.

Just some of the photos I took looking down through the valleys, in some of the shots you can see the Pacific in the distance

Miami

Next stop on our tour. There isn't much to photograph in the city itself. I mean, I could take shots from our hotel onto South Beach but after seeing a much more natural way of life I just wasn't that bothered. We did however manage to leave the shopping on Lincoln Road Mall for 1 day and go visit the Seaquarium. Well worth the trip just to see the dolphin, Sealion and Killer Whale shows. This is the original home to Flipper.

Cancun

Final stop on our travels. Here we made full use of this 5 star all inclusive resort to rest. The past month having being so hectic. A beautiful place which we only left for 3 hours to visit Cancun itself! The golf course was designed by Jack Nicholas and to my shock I got to watch an alligator/croc? run from one fairway to another as I was teeing off!!!

The last photo shows the Tequila Display that was at the entrance to one of the restaurants inside the resort. We met up with another couple from England and got chatting with the manager. Its turns out that he makes these variations of Tequila himself. Needless to say we spent till 4am sampling them all. In the end he gave us the ingredients and instructions to make them ourseleves. To be honest I still have these in the press at home unopened, but one day!!
