Our Walk along the Poudre Trail, 5/12/07

Our walk along the Poudre Trail started at Lyons Park in LaPorte.  We headed southeast into town, spotting mule deer at the gravel mining operation.

When we were almost into town, we came across participants in the Cystic Fibrosis walk.

After breakfast at the Silver Grill, we browsed some of the shops in "Old Town" Fort Collins before heading home, back the way we came.

Looks like you had a lovely walk! All that wild life and civilization in one trip. What a nice way to spend a Saturday! I really enjoyed this tabblo.

TCG: Great collection of landscape pictures of a beautiful place, with interesting subjects. The first photos is really good with the lines ofo the bridge forming a great geometric pattern. Generally the colours are great here too. In pic No.10 (I think is is No.10_, I would have cropped the bottom of the pic, just at the point where the shadow on the bottom left stops, and had the path leading out of the frame in the bottom left corner, as the shadow is a bit distracting. I think the last photo through the tunnel is a great idea, which an interesting perspectinve. Well done!

It's me again....just a note on the bridge photo, it needs rotating to the right a little. Otherwise subject is great.

Critique Group: Overall, a very nice Tabblo. I do find myself wishing we has a closer look at the birds. Are they vultures? I can't quite tell. The first and last shots are my favs.

Wendy, I believe a passing bicyclist told us they were turkey vultures, drying off their wings in the sun. You can download the picture and zoom it for a better look.

Anyone know how to get rid of the extra green field at the bottom? It gets added when I'm building the tabblo, moving and re-sizing pictures, but once done, I don't want all that empty space.

TCG - I was wondering about that extra space and I was going to mention it in the critique - but since it was beyond your control, I won't. Maybe if you ask in the Tabblo Discuss group someone will know. My only other suggestion (and this is a personal thing) is that I'd like to know where LaPorte is. I love the feel of this tabblo. It really tells the story of the day. I also like the top and bottom images a LOT.

About the extra green space between the last photo and comments: I've seen that happen, when I've made tabblos, from excess text boxes ending up at the bottom after the photos are done. To see if that's the case with this tabblo, go to your "My Tabblos" page, and click "edit." Scroll to the space we're talking about and if there are text boxes that are now visible in the edit mode, delete them (scroll to left edge of photo to bring up tool bar, click the garbage can image). Might work, can't hurt.

Thanks for the suggestions... I fixed the "extra space at the bottom" problem. Leveling pic#1 will be a little more difficult, as I think it is off by only a fraction of a degree, but I'll try to play with it later (Good eye, Joan!).

Paul (and anyone else wondering where LaPorte is), I live in Fort Collins, Colorado; LaPorte is a community to the northwest of town, along the Cache la Poudre River (40.626N, 105.137W).
