Bird Bath

In a fountain at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, a pair of sparrows taught the humans the proper way to bathe.

Choose a well-drained area to bathe in.

Dunk your head first.

Then you must completely submerge to thoroughly clean your-bird-self.

Shake off the excess water before submerging again.

"Would you wash my back?"

Don't forget behind your ears!

And never drink bath water.

The only creature that gets fluffier when wet.

A drenched little birdie ready to dry off.

Then in a nearby tree they preened...

...And preened some more.

Doesn't she smell fresh and clean now?
