boy am I glad it's a happy ending, it looked very gloomy there for a while! beautiful flowers, even the cloudy sky looked beautiful with the rays of sun peeking through, hope, true friends, family...
Elchante said at 6:44 p.m. on Jun 23, 2007:
Wow, a touching and clever way to illustrate despair and recovery with flowers. You are quite the philosopher, photographer, and Tabblo bookmaker.Great job on this book.

Great book, Vinca! Thanks for sharing it...it's actually pretty close to what I've been feeling lately with my mom being in the hospital and nursing center...and her being pretty negative about everything I've been doing to try to help her.... But, my family and friends, just like your little flowers, have been helping--ALOT! This was just another little nudge I needed to see...Thanks! :o)

Vinca, this is really brilliant, so touching. No wonder it took you a long time to make this tabblo - I would have had difficulty, too. I was happy when I began to see that there was light at the end of the tunnel. Great photos, Vinca - well done!

Hi everybody, glad you are liking this book. I was quite afraid that the length of it would be a turn off. But i simply had to get all the thoughts and fears that surround depression into it, if i had to express myself clearly. And that made the book quite lengthy.Even now, i haven't really put in many thoughts that express the graveness of the situation to avoid making it too boring for the viewer. Depression is all this and much much more.

Thank you Doreen and Uma :o)

Annelies, i know it's quite a gloomy in there for a while..i felt rather depressed myself while making it and therefore it's been in the making for a long time now. I would only get down to it, when i felt sad. I am glad it's over and done with now. Thank you for the appreciation :o)

Elchante, WOW! Thank you ever so much. I hadn't quite seen myself in that light. Those are some compliments! :o)

Laurel, i am so glad to see that you identify the situation the book describes. Am sorry to hear about your mother. Hope she gets out of this phase quickly. Depression can be a very tough experience. Thank you for the appreciation :o)

Thank you Rahela :o)

amazing! very gloomy there for a bit, but things always have a way of turning out. glad you are feeling better too. outstanding job putting this together. the pictures are spot on with the text. or is it the text that is spot on? if you don't mind, I may point a few people I know to it, they could use a reminder like this. just beautiful. =)

Noreen, i am really pleased that you found this book interesting. Yes, it did take a long time, mainly because it was depressing to make it and i wanted to be able to think clearly when i wrote my thoughts. That was only possible when i would be in a similar frame of mind. So when i would be sad, i would get down to the book. Once the mood changed, i would be unable to do the book and would move on to something else. Today, was an ideal day for completing this book. Was enveloped with sadness and i knew what i wanted to say.I thought i should put a light at the end of the tunnel, even when sometimes, none is visible. It would re-enforce our faith in life. :o)

Thank you Zippy. I am amazed that people are identifying with this situation. So glad you liked it :o)

Thank you April, for the lovely compliments. I too really liked these quotes. Did quite a bit of searching and found these two that i liked. One a little serious and the last one an amusing one :o)

Elizabeth am thrilled to read your comments. Go right ahead and share it with all those you want to. I made this book to express my thoughts and if it helps somebody, nothing could be better. :o)
I chose the pictures to go with the text, the situation that depression involves. So happy that you liked the book :o)

Nancy, i have never heard that song. But i wish i had. It must be a very nice sad song. Glad my book could remind you of a beautiful song :o)

Loonette..you are right about it being personal. I was wondering whether i should share it. But then i went ahead and did as i wanted to see if people could relate to it. And i am so glad i did. People are relating to it. And finding it useful to some extent. What more could i ask for? Thank you for your appreciation :o)

Pam, you really think so? I do hope that's the way it is ...If people found it a gift, the effort and sadness surrounding me while making the book would be worth it. Thank you for your kind words and wishes :o)

Thank you Sheila, CT and Anna :o)

Stefan, heart melting did you say? Am overwhelmed to learn that. Thank you for those words :o)

You have created a book that is universally accesible. Who among us has not felt pain, fear or doubt? Who among us has not wanted to reach out, yet feared rejection? It is a courageous work. May the days continue to rain sunshine and kisses. :)

Vinca, I felt so sad for you when I started reading your book and seeing your pictures. You did an amazing job putting it all together. The length did not deter me at all. It was like reading a great book that you can't put down. I was happy to see that the end was brighter and more optimistic. We all have our tough times and wonder how we will get through them. My life is so wonderful now and has been for several years. But before that, there were some awful times. I wondered if life was worth all the effort that had to be put into it. If you had told me 10 years ago that my life would be what it is today, I would have said you were crazy! You never know what is in store for you but it could be magnificent. And when it turns out that way, you realize it was worth the wait! And I think you also realize that because of the very tough times you appreciate what you have been given even more. I hope you are smiling now and I hope your tabblo friends are helping you through these times. From all the wonderful comments here it looks like we are all here for you! I also think this book that took so much of your time will help other people out there. This is an awesome tabblo book and it is going right into my favorites! Dee
Vinca said at 5:56 p.m. on Jun 24, 2007:
Dee, all of you are so kind. Tears are welling up in my eyes again. When i see somebody relate to this book i feel i am not alone. There are so many of us out there that have gone through similar times in their lives sometime or the other. And if all of you have come out of it so beautifully i too may have a glorious future ahead. It can only get better, it can't get worse than this at least.I feel " Now, that i have experienced the lows in life for such long periods, nothing bad is going to happen to me for a long time to come.Life is going to look up from now on and stay that way." But then again something happens and i take another plunge into the deep dark world of depression. It's like it's got a good strong hold over me and will not allow me to be free, much as i struggle against it. A quicksand of sorts. I had a lot of difficulty in collecting all my thoughts and exact feelings experienced during such phases, for making the book. But ever since i joined tabblo, the wonderful people here and their warm encouraging words have given me the strength and will power to express myself in totality.I went ahead with the book and managed to work on it in spurts. Now that it's complete, i feel happier that i can work on more cheerful subjects. But when i read about events in other people's lives, it again saddens me, though i also feel happy that it is actually "helping" some people out here. That makes it all worthwhile. Thank you ever so much Dee for your heart felt appreciation. :o)

Indeed, very nicely composed. Every one of us can relate to your thoughts at some point of time in our lives. And if it weren't for the bad times, we would never recognize and enjoy the good times. As someone has said, "If it weren’t for the rocks in its bed, the stream would have no song."

You have described the same song through your creativity in this Tabblo. Great Work!!

Thank you for doing this book. It is so brutally and wondefully honest, and ultimately hopeful. The images and text are a journey that feels very personal - because it comes from your heart AND because it resonates with my own experience. Thank you for creating and sharing this here!

What a lot of work you have put into this book Vinca. It is very touching, and the emotions are so well illustrated with the flower photographs. I am sure that creating this book has helped you a lot, and enabled you to bring out some of those feelings of despair, and when you look at the beautiful flowers, I hope you can see the sunshine ahead of you.
