Se bem que alguma tristeza é mesmo possível (e quanta!) já que na semana passada a fêmea preta morreu afogada (no pote de água!). Agora a família está reduzida a 4 fortíssimos filhotes (o macho preto, que é o Tom; as duas fêmeas chocolate - Cacau e Alcione - e o macho chocolate, ainda sem nome).

Grandpa looks pretty cute too... and proud. :) I imagine choosing which one to keep is going to be tough. I think it's amazing how even at such an early age you can already see the differences in their little personalities. These pictures are precious. It's going in my favs... FOR SURE !!! I love watching the progression and hope you will continue to let us enjoy them with you.

DEE: You are a lucky person! Nothing compares to the joy of having labradors around us - and you have 3 of them, and for such a long time. I have a couple: Negão (6 yo last April) and Benedita (5 yo last January), and now I'll keep one of their daughters, little Cacau (Cocoa, in Portuguese). You are right: they are babies forever, they never become adults. Just like some of us...

ALBERTO: Se continuar escrevendo nessa língua secreta que é o Português, não tem problema contar o meu nome verdadeiro y otras cositas más. Essa é a grande vantagem de falar uma língua periférica como a nossa. Sim, são a segunda ninhada da Bené e do Negão. Só descobri quando já estavam a 15 dias de nascer. Acho o Santoro a escolha perfeita para o papel ("301 Labradores" é um achado!). Será que o Walter Salles topa dirigir?
EDITE: Toda morte é uma perda irreparável, ainda mais quando olho para a Benedita (mãe da ninhada) e vejo o que a pequena Elis poderia ter se tornado: uma companheira fiel, carinhosa, inteligente. Deu mesmo muita pena. Mas os quatro que restaram são um motivo de alegria, e é isso que quero compartilhar.
NANCY: They are almost 2 months old now. I'll leave them with their parents for about 2 more months before I let them go to their new homes. They deserve a nice childhood, with their brothers, sisters and parents. That will make them better adults - just like happens with us, humans.
JIGS: Of course they do look like me - that's genetical and hereditary! I just wish I could have all their other qualities...
