Cambridge University Botanic Garden, Cambridge, England June 2006

a wild Pheasant hiding in this grass somewhere!

The Cambridge University Botanic Garden was established in 1846 and contains over 8,000 species. Two newer sections developed in the last 50 years are the Western Garden of 19th century diversity and the Eastern area that shows the 20th century concerns of interactions between ecology and the processes of evolution and genetics. I spent only one afternoon here and long to be here again.

Beautiful tabblo. Some very nice shots in this tabblo, for sure. :o) I find the picture of the green mini horn like flowers and the one below of the yellow and red flowers simply fascinating. The green ones especially are so strange looking. Never seen anything like those before.

Ooooo ... I love flowers. My favourite is the Orchid. You have taken some lovely pictures of the Philanopsis and the Oncidium. Lovely! Have you been to the Botanic Gardens in Singapore? If you love Orchid too, we have the National Orchid Gardens situated there. If you ever want to go there, let me know, I would bring you there. I have taken loads of pictures there. always, Patrick.
