A Bittersweet Father's Day and a Gift From God

My cousin Lenn has had a difficult, hard life from making too many wrong choices, but by the grace of God, he has turned his life around and is now living a clean and sober life.

At the age of 54, he is a father for the first time in his life.  He is wearing his love for this baby on his sleeve for all to see and it is a beautiful thing.

Sadly, these pictures were taken at a memorial service for my uncle, my cousin Lenn's dad.  He never got to meet his new grandson, but I have no doubt he sees him now. 

My Cousin's name 'Lenn' is short for Leonard.  He is named after his father.  On the day Lenn's baby was born, he called his dad to let him know that

Leonard Carter the 3rd

was in the world.

Your constant laughter and smile will be missed. 

Welcome to the world

May your world be filled with all the love and support that your grandfather gave to your dad.

You went through a lot of frustration doing this tabblo but it surely paid off. What a wonderful tribute to your cousin Lenn. Many congratulations to him on straightening up his life and now to have a new baby. It is so wonderful and such an accomplishment. The pictures are wonderful and I love how you have them in black and white with the blue background. Beautifully done. And I'm sure Uncle Leon is so proud and so happy for all of you. Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments. I made this Tabblo with lots of love for my family which was always very large and extended but is now sadly getting smaller and smaller. I felt very strongly about doing this. I sent these pictures to my cousin as a 'new baby' gift. I think he's going to like them.

Dee, I changed these photos to Black and White (as I do most of my work) because I think the emotion comes through much more than it would if in color. What you can't tell though, is that both father and son are readheads! In my family, brunettes have readheds and redheads have brunettes. This is the first time in family history that a readhead has had a redheaded baby. Thanks again everyone!
