a B 4 Z

This baby sits about 4 blocks from my house.  It's nose points straight at my loft window and I had a full view of it until last year,  when they built the 24hr  Fitness Center.  Seeing it everyday was a bit disconcerting at first, but now that it's gone,  I miss it's cute little nose.

This one's for my buddy, John (Zero42) .

How did you get so close this "baby"? (you didn't trespass did ya???)

Great tour! The red engine covers are startling... My brother used to work on B-52's in Thailand during the Viet Nam conflict.. Nice set. Thank you.

Thanks, Laura! A, it's gated off, but so HUGE that you can get great pics..They only open it up to the public 2 or 3 times a year, but it sits in font of the museum all year long. Thanks Roy, I actually overheard a guy talking to his buddy about this very thing! Hey, Zip, I am an Army Brat!

Wow - and your photos are sharp and done very well.

Terrific, Pam! You have really managed to capture the size of this baby - I feel so very small. Great choice of layout, too.
Pkeener said at 5:36 p.m. on Jun 18, 2007:
Norren, just stand underneath it and you begin to feel very tiny. Bob, the light and my camera really helped me out!

I like that red "touch" among so much blue. Weren't you mistaken by a spy for taking so many photos from so many angles?
Pkeener said at 6:14 p.m. on Jun 18, 2007:
Edu, I miss those red spots! I just flash them my Pammie smile and they momentarily lose their memory. It's an old spy trick.

ahh the memories of Lowry Air Force Base!! Thanks so much for bringing them back :) it still seems so strange that it isn't a base anymore - i miss the old one :(

Pam: Good photos! It has to have care, can be withheld by making photos for espionage! !!.
Pkeener said at 9:01 a.m. on Jun 19, 2007:
Peg, i know, I miss it too, but the pool is still there :) Thank you Afonso. It is in front of a Museum, so I think I am safe ;) Did you check out the link? Thanks Woody! it was pretty easy, since I was at such a low vantage point!

i was 'hoping' that you may end up making your way over there some time. :D thanks a ton!! those poor tires look like they're about to give. without people around it, it looks small. :G it does look kinda cute though. who needs fitness anyway. i wish i'd snapped more angles of the one i saw now. great tab.
Pkeener said at 4:53 p.m. on Jun 19, 2007:
Hi John! I am glad you like it. I took a ton more pics, but the Tabblo would be endless. I always thought I should take shots of it, but since it was so available, I took it for granted. I PROMISE to make a point of going to the next Open Cockpit, and take pics for you then. Elizabeth, I can't imaginr the sound of the engines!

They still use these planes... they can fly halfway around the world before having to return. Amazing jets.
