Dome Rock, site of an old lookout, is a 10.6 mile round-trip hike, with 3270 ft. elevation gain, 48 miles east of Salem, OR. Try it sometime. The first photo is Mt. Jefferson, head buried in the clouds.

Thank you for taking me along with you. I love the mountains, although the things we have back East don't really qualify as such next to Mt Jefferson. One of the things I really enjoy is being up in the mountains when clouds come by. If they're just at the right height, it's like their bellies are being scratched by the peaks. You've captured some of that here. Thanks for this set.

Abking said at 1:35 a.m. on Jun 23, 2007: John: It's one of six pine trees in search of an author. He's a lucky man to have a commemorative like that on his grave.
