Paris Part 1 - The Seine River Cruise

Welcome to Paris!

First we see the famous landmark of the Eiffel Tower.  Now come alongside the Seine with me and board the bateau for a beautiful river cruise.

"How would you like to be....down by the Seine with me....tra..la..la...!"

Well..maybe not with ME, but I am sure you would like to be there with someone else....

Take a seat..get comfy and cast your eyes about you.

Here we go! ...under the bridges

....and out the other side....

Look up!....way up through the glass roof of the boat!

and see the beautiful Paris skyline

What a lovely sky we are blessed with today with those fluffy white clouds.

Relax..and enjoy the beautiful architecture of the bridges and the gold statues

OK folks..all good things come to an end...time to disembark...grab a quick crêpe at the riverside stand and make our way over to the Eiffel Tower...join me on that tour next.

Joan, this tabblo is truly wonderful. You have made superb use of unusual angles to make it feel as if the viewer was right there in the boat with you. Many years ago I lived in Paris for nearly a year. In those days these boats were called Bateaux Mouches. I felt as if I was right back there, a young student wirh her whole life ahead of her. Thank you for the opportunity to revisit those memorable days!

Tabblo Critique: Joan - I truly enjoyed my little tour through Paris! I would love to be by the Seine with you... good company is always welcome! lol
You have some great shots... I especially love your take on the architecture. Your bridge shots are fun. The only advice I could give would be to be careful of the resolution of some of your pics... the 2nd pic (the Paris Boat) is pretty blurry... It might be fun to experiment this tabblo with different sizes of pics... It might even bring out the "tour" feel even more!
I really look forward to seeing more of your pics! :) Thanks for sharing these.

Tabblo Critique: As always it's a great time when you share your trips. Your photography is always so impressive, angles, colors and composition. What I miss a little is more "people pics", usually you mix more. A great tabblo with great architecture shots, would maybe been even more interesting with a few people pic breaks.

Thanks a lot folks! I am glad it stirred a few good memories for your Noreen and Paul, and also for some of you who haven't been there were happy to take a little tour with me. It;s great to see some good critiques also in this group. Thanks Lalyla for your points about the blurriness in a photo and the suggestion about using different size pics. My original layout was a mixture of variying sizes, but the problem was that most of the shots were landscape views of long structures like bridges, and it was difficult to fit them into square frames or even portrait style frames. I think in my next tabblo of Paris ..the Eiffel Tower, it will be a little easier to change the frame shapes, I will certainly try it out. I checked my setting for those shots in the EXIF information, and saw that my ISO setting was at 400. I have no idea why.... must try to keep an eye on that in future. Maybe if I had used 100 or 200 the shots would have been clearer. Also thanks Anders for your suggestion to include more people pics. I checked my originals for the Paris trip, but only found one of a group of us on there, and it was a pretty poor photo, so hadn't included it. I must make a note to myself to try and get more personal shots in.
I find this kind of critique really helpful and am so glad this group was initiated. Thanks a lot.

Joan, I have never seen this perspective of Paris. It is hard to critique this, because you had such a challenge to make these shots. I love your tours. So I enjoyed this. BTW, I was shooting my friend at her showing of a beautiful watercolor. When i looked at the photos, they we ALL out of focus. it was a crowded gallery, and I remember someone bumping into me hard and hitting my camera. Well, I looked at the lens, and sure enough, the auto focus button had been switched to manual mode, without me realizing it. Needless to say, i will always check that from now on.
