First Fireworks

We went down to a town beach near our house July 3rd to see some fireworks.  Apparently this is a long-standing tradition even though it's technically  illegal (we made sure to keep a good distance!).  This was the first time Anja ever saw fireworks and as you can tell by her face she was extremely excited.  She kept yelling "they are so beautiful!  They are so colorful!" and laughing maniacally.  Alex was very excited about sparklers.  Even though we really didn't want him to try them we relented and made sure he stood upwind of the sparks.

A fun family evening that again makes me glad we live in a town on the ocean even though we're subjected to freezing winds much of the year...

Running to catch little parachutes from the fireworks

Alex's friend Alec (yes, it gets confusing)

Another friend from Kindergarten

Going...

going...

gone!

Not quite as scenic as the alley from which we viewed Denver's fireworks, but "so beautiful" nonetheless! That must have been an amazing experience for them!

The large photo - 5th row down is FANTASTIC! Looks like an awesome night. We had a wild kid filled festive night as well - hoping to get my photos up today!

I agree, nothing sucks more than freezing big winds...however, you have it so lovely, so lovely a view and place, that that really must offset that horrible aspect tremendously!!! Try the big freezing winds in Chicago....LOL not so great. Wonderful shots of a great day!! Love the dark one of you and your girl.
