The United Methodist church was built in 1843. The church received its Hasham clock in 1844. It is electrified today.
Looking at the relatively modern appearance of the clock faces and hands, makes me think that perhaps these were "updated" recently.
The other thing I wonder about this clock installation, now that I see these pictures is that it appears to only have two faces. I did not have the presence of mind to check the rear of the church to see if there was a face there. It appears that the clock drives two faces, one in the front and one on the "downhill side" of the church. I'm wondering if it's because the second tower is right next to the clock tower and it would have obstructed the view. Or, could it have been that the second tower was added later and the third clock face removed?
Unlike the Cornish Flat NH site, or the Haverhill NH site, or the Norwich VT site, this church does not look out upon a bucolic common green. Instead, perched as it is on 10 Valley St which is a hard right off Route 11 West, the church overlooks this bustling downtown scene.
