Polaroids

Wanted to share this cool photshop action.

Download action from atncentral.com:

"This action takes a 9" X 9" X 300 PPI image and creates an 11" X 14" X 300 PPI hi-res image with 36 Polaroid frames. There is also an option to save a lo-res file for web with a frame. The action is available in CS2, CS, and PS7 versions."

Too bad I can't make the whole image fit here....

It's interesting but it seems to me the Polaroids don't really have the saturation and vignetting that real Polaroids do. Also, it shouldn't be so perfect because you never get a perfect shot by hand-holding the Polaroid. Sometimes you get overlap, othertimes you're maybe missing some part of the image. David Hockney was one of the first to experiment with this style of shooting a still scene by using a Polaroid camera and just panning horizontally and vertically and shooting the whole time. He took pictures of famous musicians like the Talking Heads. It's on the "More Songs About Buildings" album I think. Cool idea, but I almost wish it was more random...

Thanks guys.
Hi Jeff: I know what you are trying to say. I guess the author of the action just decided to cut off pieces of an image and divided it into equal parts and making it "polaroid-like framing". Not the David Hockney type for sure but just having fun with the concept. There are 4 more templates, maybe they are more random?.
