Civil War

Civil War Reenactment 2007 - Lake County, IL

There are 100s of tents just like the old days

Each camp had their flag flying

Returning from war with a wound

Looking fo other soldiers to join a skirmish breaking out

The re-enactment has all ages in full garb

Mr Ed?

Returning from war

Dismay on their faces

Abercrombie didn't exist back then. But needed a picture with a best friend and x-neighbor

Off to war they go!

Much of their day is cleaning guns and staying out of 90 degree sun

Can you believe their dress is wool is 90 degrees! Authentic!

You gotta love a dozen canons on your side

The equivalent of a MASH unit. Their hospital

A Motley Crew Indeed

The women wait for their men to return.

Thank god that's over.

Somehow - this DOESN'T FIT!

Actually in a few short years Abercrombie would exist, it was founded in 1892, and sold camping and outdooe equipment for the rugged outdoorsman, a far distance from their current assortment. Nice Tabblo

This is very cool! I can't imagine what must have really been like to have to wear those wool clothes in 90 degree weather for real. Great Tabblo!!

Great job! I've been to these things and it's really hard to get pictures without the "modern" element in the picture, but you did a fantastic job.

TCG - Wow! That first picture is such a great capture! I had to look at it over and over before I could even go on the rest. I'm not sure I would have put the canon picture first. It has such an impact (so to speak) that it might be nice to save it for last as an exclamation point.

I saw the B&W version also and I like the color. - though I was thinking that it might be fun to do just the last one in sepia (or sepia with a hint of color so it looks hand-tinted) and all the rest in color just for the twist of having the modern coneyance rendered in a period style.

Superb tabblo, that first picture is awesome, but I think the last picture spoils things a bit, but! if it was'nt for that last pic I would have nothing to gripe about would I? :-). all in all this is a superb effort, very highly commended..
