I believe that we can conclude that peacocks don't see the infrared spectrum. Or they wouldn't get any action at all.

LOL Dan. thanks Wlk and Kool.

Some truly great photos in here. I loved the Gorillas (or Chimpanzees?), and the strange bird with wonderful lighting and mood in the second to last photo. The light on the trees to the right of the bird is especially wonderful. Great work!

very cool but is that peacock complaining about being in B&W?

Great choice for IR. I read somewhere that take IR all the time, cause you don't know what will come out great withIR. I am sure that you already know, but for me it's a surprice every time. Love this one a favo for me

I think this is excellent. Would rather see the peacocks in color. I really like the water in shot 6.

The top two gorilla (ape? I never know) shots are great...love the stare.

Boy, those zebras really glow in the B&W, and the second ape shot is great.

Awesome shots! The look on the mothers' face says it all.
Engelgrafik said at 2:23 p.m. on Jul 20, 2007:
Ejmccartin, yeah I know a lot of people ask me why the peacock isn't in color. I just think it's like any other decision to shoot in b/w instead of color. In b/w, you want to see the composition more, you want to see the detail of the patterns. Color is more about.. well.. color. Color and b/w photography is very different. I like how the b/w allows me to see all the strands of the peacock feathers, it almost looks like lace or fine textiles.

Jeff and Dskok.... yes, they are gorillas. That's Kiki and Kimane (the baby). I don't know the name of the other one.
