Holy Bee!

These bees have been taking residence on cemented areas of our house for over 20 years already.  We call it "kyut", due to it's being tiny.  We've never known the proper name of this type of bee.

During  summers, they are swarming around their residences. But, it has never  harmed anyone, so far.

Its residence may be unsightly, but the honey it produced years ago has helped save the life of our dog after being poisoned by some bullfrog.

Above: Images of bees entering & exiting their home. These bees are super fast; unfortunately, I do not have the technology to really capture their high-speed.

Left: What it looks inside, with some of them ready to take flight.

Below & right: Some hundreds of bee-miles from the 1st location is another residence

If anybody knows the proper name of "kyut", I'd be very happy to give justice to these little ones...

We also have these bees in Southern Philippines. But people seem not so aware about this kind of bees. Locally, they are also known as "kyut" in local Visayan language. The hives are rather blackish in color and the honey pleasantly tastes sweet with a hint of sourness.
