Morocco Exchange

My first step in AFRICA!

<------

Tangier

"We offer American and Moroccan students the opportunity for both intensive personal growth and a monumental physical journey of discovery in Morocco. During this time of common cultural misunderstandings, there is a call for the next generation to become leaders who understand the major challenges to cross-cultural conflicts and who have the capabilities, commitment and grit to

address them. "  -Morocco Exchange

"Nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced - even a proverb is no proverb to you till your life has illustrated it."    John Keats (1795-1821)

Some of the girls from the trip!

We just found out we were going to ride camels! Not on the original itinerary!!

<-------------------

Our lovely van that we spent the whole trip in exploring Morocco and  jamming to the local music

------------------->>

Some ancient Roman ruins mixed with the remains of an old Arabic palace in Rabat

There were cats EVERYWHERE.....right next to the fertility pond with gross eels and a bunch of storks...how fitting.

The sister tower to the Giralda in Sevilla, Spain.

It was never finished due to the death of the Sultan Yaqub al-Mansur.

----->>

One of the host brothers of a girl on the trip...what a cutie!

<<--------

One of my host sisters in Rabat

----->>>

Our guest bedroom in our host's house....we felt like princesses!!!!!!!!

The rest of the house....

All the hallways were outdoors including the sink for the bathroom! It was beautiful!

My other host sister

<<---------

The whole fam!

<<----------

The turkish toilet!

<<------

The sisters were very sweet to us and showed us around town. Everyone is a lot more affectionate to friends and family here and the sisters hugged us  a lot and held our hands when showing us around town, they were so welcoming!!

Tarik, a University of Rabat student showed Kelly and I around town. All the girls got to spend time with some university students and we all had a great time!!

We took a trip up to the Rif Mountains to spend some time with a family there...as you will see we had a great time!

Crazy grandma Fatima!

This boy was dragging everyone up to dance!

One of the boys took my camera and some of these next photos are ones that he took! He loved it! And he was pretty good....although he almost managed to erase all my pictures!

Our last day: Chefchaouen
