Purple Haze

Every year at this time, these purple flowers show up in every marshy spot  in my area. I don't know what they are but they're really pretty. I took these pics in a couple different places at different times over the last couple of days.

This might actually be called purple loosestrife, but don't quote me on it. In Eastern Canada it's considered invasive and a threat to marshlands because it spreads so quickly and takes over. ... It makes for a great subject for photos though! Lovely!

I don't know about invasive but its definitely prolific. You'll see acres of the stuff as you drive along the highwayshere in New England. I always identify these guys with the winding down of summer.
