These are great captures! I love all the color. I was just outside looking for something to take pictures of. Not much going on around here except for the roses. Butterflies are challenging to photograph. Obviously they were no match for you! Nice Tabblo!

Butterflies are really hard to photograph because they always want to flutter their wings, and it seems just as your snapping the photo, they move and flutter again.

Absolutely lovely! I agree that it would be hard to capture them, particularly up close. Good job!

TCG: These are absolutely stunning! By way of colour and framing, and the detail that you've captured in the butterfly, I think these are your best yet! I know I've talked to you about the sharpening before, and that you told me that you didn't know if there was a way you could lessen it, but I think if you could find a way then these would be worthy of publishing in a magazine! The butterflies are so well in focus to begin with, that I don't think that they need to be sharpened much, and the effect, to my eye anyway, causes the blurred background to shimmer somewhat. ...Still, I think your photography is improving by leaps and bounds, rather than trudgingly, as you would put it! :-)

Great shots. They like to flutter so much it's sometimes hard to capture them with a camera. Very beautiful tabblo.

Very lovely! I especially like the last one. Those flowers are the perfect color to go with the butterfly and the light on both is wonderful. I like this!

Beautiful Monarchs! Have you seen them land and/or take off during their migrations? Too wondrous for words.
Tishfish said at 5:38 a.m. on Aug 4, 2007:
No I haven't seen them migrate yet, but would sure love to.
