Gorgeous shots Wendy, Do these plants have prickly stems?
Wlk68 said at 8:46 a.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
Not that I noticed.
Tishfish said at 8:47 a.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
They just looked like someting I planted last year, the flowers were gorgeous, but the stems were impossible to touch and I didn't keep the little stick with the name on it.

These are all so good shots. love the last one most. It's like a gigantic flowering tree. LOVE IT!!
Klfillar said at 9:02 a.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
Beautiful! The flowers look like they are towering over everything else.
Janer said at 9:03 a.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
The flowers are so dainty. Love it!

The bottom one makes me think of fireworks. The way they explode out from a central point, leaving arcing trails in the sky. I hope I'm explaining myself clearly.

This is a gorgeous tabblo!

I love the composition of each picture. Again, a beautiful flower against the gorgious blue sky. Well done!
Hollyridger said at 10:58 a.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
Love this, Wendy! So simple yet so complex. Wonderful structure in the flower and, yes, me too, the last one is my favourite. I like your fireworks analogy.

These flowers grew wild in Maine (where I grew up), but I haven't seen them around Colorado at all. Do you have any photos of them from the top; they're very pretty. I've always liked them, but many people cannot tolerate the pollen.
Wlk68 said at 12:14 p.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
These things are everywhere around here. You can't turn around without tripping over them. I didn't take any shots from above but I could run out at lunch and take a few for you.
PHS_Wrestling said at 12:22 p.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
Oh, that's OK, Wendy. I know what they look like from above (and they're as delicate, fragile, and beautiful and one could imagine), but maybe the others don't know what they look like from the top? I was getting that impression, anyway.
Wlk68 said at 12:32 p.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
It's not a problem, really. Like I said these things are everywhere. I can walk out the door to my office building and just snap a quick pic. It makes sense to let everyone see what the tops of these lacy flowers look like.
Rheap said at 12:56 p.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
Very nicely taken shots..
Wlk68 said at 1:53 p.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
Okay, added the three shots at the bottom to show what the tops of these flowers look like. They remind me of lace doilies.
Hollyridger said at 3:58 p.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
I like the three that you have added especially the one with the bonus bug, a wasp, I think but I could be wrong!
Wlk68 said at 4:00 p.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
Thanks, Noreen.
AliDar said at 6:45 p.m. on Aug 1, 2007:
Hey wow! It's quite cool to see these from underneath! The stems and leaves make such lovely little starburst patterns! Wonderful shots, and thanks for showing me the beauty from this perspective! :-)

When I was growing up in Philadelphia, Queen Anne's Lace was everywhere and most everyone thought of it as a weed. It wasn't until later that I realized just what a lovely flower it is. I don't see it much in Colorado either. Lovely tabblo!

These are considered weeds where we used to live. A lady had them in her yard and The City said they had to go. She fought to keep them and won.. her yard was full of wildflowers, no grass. Queen Anne's Lace is a beautiful flower, even the name gives it dignity.
Wlk68 said at 7:41 a.m. on Aug 2, 2007:
Thanks, Tammy. But I must confess I find myself wondering if I'm becoming too predictable. *grin*
DVP said at 11:33 a.m. on Aug 2, 2007:
Thanks for showing the top view of this too - I've been wondering what it looked like. :)

You take really beautiful pictures of flowers. You make this "simple" flower look gorgeous!

I love your photos looking up through the underside of the Queen Anne's lace, it loks like the stars are out at midday. I can imagine you lying on the ground taking the pics ;-) Beautiful tabblo!!
