I loved this shot so much in B&W I decided that what was the Weekend Best. However, I couldn't bear to present this without the matching color shot.

This is a real beauty! The color is lovely, but I like the B&W..gives it a timeless feel.

Wow this is beautiful! Is this in Alberta? I want to go there! ... I just took a look at the colour version in it's larger size, and though it's very beautiful as well, I think the b&w allows the viewer to enjoy the lovely textural and tonal differences of the clouds, the shiny sunlight on the water, the knots and shadows on the dock, and the distance layers in the background mountains! Excellent shot! :)

Wonderful photo - the B&W is perfect. Great job.

stastically Albertans work more hours than other canadians...chasing that dream..glad you took out time to relax
Jerii said at 1:05 p.m. on Aug 12, 2007:
Beautiful and well titled. I spent so much time as a kid watching black and white TV and wishing it were color, that I find I don't appreciate B&W the way others do. Give me a blue sky any day!
Zippywinds said at 5:30 p.m. on Aug 12, 2007:
WOW WHOA what pure perfection beauty :)

Excellant image(s) - the one to hang on the wall is B/W; the other is postcard perfect.

I can almost hear the Loons crying. GORGEOUS shot!!!! Very appealing composition.
Nmat said at 11:45 p.m. on Aug 14, 2007:
The twisting irregularity of the dock planks is much more arresting in the b&w version. For me, this belies the title, sort of like a Wyeth painting that always has that bit of off-centeredness that puts you on alert.
Hollyridger said at 11:53 p.m. on Aug 14, 2007:
It's black and white for me, Destiny. I hope you have plans to matte and frame this great shot. Finding the wall space after a while becomes a problem, I know!
DVP said at 5:21 p.m. on Aug 15, 2007:
I haven't had wall-space for a decade! I need a digital frame really.

Sorry, I forgot to say something.... If someone had shown me this photograph and asked me to identify the photographer , I would have said without a moments hesitation......."Ansel Adams." Again..this is really beautiful!
ChrisN said at 8:32 a.m. on Aug 17, 2007:

Thank you every one for the especially kind comments. I've always been a big Ansel Adams fan. He did some amazing things in the darkroom with limited tools. I am very honored to have my photo compared to his work.
Marcif said at 10:15 p.m. on Aug 21, 2007:
I had to come back to show my husband this shot. It is stunning!
