Restored

My grandfather is sitting on the truck. The photo was in two pieces and looked a lot worse before I scanned it in.

I've now restored this photo from WW1 to an acceptable level but I'll improve it a bit more before I do enlarged prints.

Nice job Andrew. I am especially impressed by the restoration of the one man's face. Have you ever considered a career in plastic surgery? :-)
by the way - do you know anything about the people in the picture?

Thanks Paul,

For some reason tabblo didn't publish the captions that I originally added so I've put them back now and as you see my grandfather is sitting on the truck.

You have done a great job with this, it is very satisfying to restore a photograph to its former glory, esecially when it contains a family member, Excellent work..

Wow, very impressive! You've done a great job with everything, even the poor mans face that had nearly half of it obliterated by the tear. It must have taken you some time to do, and I can see that it still looks a little awkward. ... I hope you don't mind my saying so, but I was wondering if you could make a copy of the existing side of the face and then flip it and then paste it into place on the other, then apply a bit of shadowing and blending here and there so it looks natural. I've never tried this myself, so I really don't know what I'm talking about. <grin> Just thinking out loud, and hoping that my thinking might be of some help.
