Very good Anders. It leaves a lot for the imagination. It looks like there may be two hobos because of the two drinks. But I don't get the one boot.

Ha! Great capture! Like the diffuse impressionist-style background made by heat convection. Thanks for this.

It certainly does spark some imagination ... !! I love it. Great title too, Anders.

Hmmm, Sunday Two-fer or Weekend best? :)
TCG: It's an intriguing shot. I like how you've framed this. However, I find that the eye is being drawn down the tracks, maybe prematurely by the warm rich light there. I'd try to punch the colors on the drinks just a little so that the light down the road isn't competing so much. It's very atmospheric. I trust that's not your boot!

Thank you for your comments. This picture is from the same set of pics as the one before, Downtown Train, so it's some of the kids diving from the trestle, who own the boot and the drinks. Destiny I think you are right, I have already lightened up the drinks to make them more visible. They where in the shadows, while the background was in the sun. Still think you are right though and will work on it. Thank you for putting my eyes on it

Very nicely made, I agree with DVP, but I would just tone down the light down the track a little bit and leave the rest as it is..

What a cool shot this is!

Interesting shot, like the composition. The crooked rails are a bit scary though.

Nice!

That revision helped loads. Your dof looks more accurate now too. Great pp.

tabblo critique: i kinda like the brightness down the track. you see the drinks and the boot and when you look for the person... they are gone. you can see far down the track but the train must've already moved on!
if you had the chance to take this again i would recommend putting the focus of the shot on the cups... if you look closely enough you can see that the lens is focusing on the track off to the right giving the cups that blurry feeling.
i totally picture two wanderers jumping into a boxcar - no hands for cups - and someones foot got stuck at the last second. better to lose a boot than to lose a foot!

All heder åt dig! :)
Floridamolle said at 4:37 p.m. on Aug 26, 2007:
Thank you for your wonderful comments and critique. The more I look at the picture the more strange I think it is. LOL!! It's almost impossible to NOT see it as a down sloop that is leveling out, but it starts at the trestle that is leveled and than it's slightly uphills. I haven't used any effects, and the heat and the narrow DOF, really make the background weird. Anna jag har provat med ollika mycket kontrast och ljus och med mer contrast så tyckte jag att det ...ja det blev inte riktigt bra.. Tack för beröm och förslag.....Du har så mycket bildkunskap.
DVP said at 4:46 p.m. on Aug 26, 2007:
I've tried cropping it to a pano format and it takes away that 'weird' feeling for me. However, I also feel it takes away the context of the day. A tough call.
Pkeener said at 6:48 p.m. on Aug 26, 2007:
my eye goes rith to the horizon cause it wants to figure this out..
Pkeener said at 6:49 p.m. on Aug 26, 2007:
i meant "right"
Floridamolle said at 8:01 p.m. on Aug 26, 2007:
Thanks again. I must say that the last 3 comments make me a little confused LOL!!! DVP What is the context of the day?? And what did you try to crop? Pam your eye goes right and not rith......? To figure out??? Sometimes I wonder if G's granny sold her plants on tabblo !! LOL!!!!!! But fun it is...

Great picture Anders.I will let my inmagination go~
DVP said at 10:49 a.m. on Aug 27, 2007:
*grins* I thought for a second Anders was going to accuse me of COPPING something like a feel. :)
I tried cropping off the top 45% of the photo. It worked, but the atmosphere of the photo changed from a day of promise with bright sun down the tracks to one that might be rainy because there was no visible sunshine.
Umauma said at 11:00 a.m. on Aug 27, 2007:

AliDar said at 4:46 p.m. on Aug 27, 2007:
TCG: Cool photo Anders! ... or I should say hot! because the short dof really does make the background shimmer as if it's the heat that's causing it. (... Maybe it is the heat... can you actually capture that in a photo? ) When I look at this shot, my eye does follow the track, but the shimmering heat effect makes me focus again on what is in the foreground, and there's an weird play back and forth between the two, that creates a visual tension, ... which I like, makes me feel sort of like I've had too much sun. <grin> ... Odd that the track looks like it's going downhill and then up. Perhaps it's just the angle of the photo that causes that illusion.

Une ligne directrice qui mène au bout de l'horizon. La vie ne serait-elle qu'un long chemin sur rails?
