refrigerator art

These days, I don't draw at all, but as a kid I drew all the time. My father sent me these masterpieces that he found while cleaning. They're apparently from 1989.

The first one brings to mind a nightmare I once had featuring a massive tidal wave that turned into a wall of ice before shattering and falling onto hundreds of beach-goers. I'm not sure if the drawing had anything to do with the dream.

The next one shows somebody (maybe me) enjoying a very colorful quilt.

I think it reflects the awareness of the AIDS epidemic happening at the time. You know, when people were making those quilts.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

The last piece may be titled, "During Apple Picking -- Attacked by Birds"

It came at the peak of my bird-drawing phase, before I had moved on to drawing airplanes, ghostbusters, and hand guns.

These are really cute. I'm going to have to check with my mom now and see if she has any of my old drawings.
